Sushant is a final-year PhD candidate in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto with over 7 years of experience in bioprinting technologies. He leads the entrepreneurial and commercialization efforts at VRIT, working to launch INSITE into the global market by 2045. As the driving force behind the technology’s development, Sushant bridges deep technical expertise with strategic execution.

Dr. Axel Guenther is a Professor at the University of Toronto and a global leader in bioprinting, known for pioneering several biofabrication technologies and co-founding the CRAFT research center in partnership with Canada’s NRC. A recipient of prestigious awards including the ETH Medal and U of T’s Innovator of the Year, his work bridges mechanical engineering and regenerative medicine.

Avantika brings a cross-disciplinary background in cellular and biomaterials research, innovation consulting, and product development across nonprofit and startup settings. She holds a BHSc from McMaster and a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, with two years of experience in bioprinting technologies. At VRIT, she drives both R&D and commercial efforts, bridging science and strategy to advance INSITE’s path to market.

Jignesh Patel is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience driving innovation and product strategy in biologics, regenerative medicine, and medical devices. As Vice President at Smith+Nephew, he brings deep expertise in FDA-regulated product development, global R&D leadership, and commercial-scale product launches.

Dr. Marc Jeschke is a globally reknown burn surgeon and expert in translational burn research. Currently, he  serves as Vice President, Research and Chief Scientific Officer at Hamilton Health Sciences. With decades of experience leading multidisciplinary teams, he has secured major national funding to advance stem cell-based skin regeneration and immunometabolic therapies for complex injuries.

He has led IP efforts behind multiple biotech IPOs and acquisitions collectively exceeding $2 billion, and is a trusted advisor to startups, investors, and accelerators across North America.
